Welcome To Tarbone Ranch

2021 Welcome page updateTarbone Ranch was founded by Ken Cook and his family in 2006. In January of 2016 Ken Cook passed away of a heart attack. Since his death, we have continued to run the ranch and hunts as he would have wanted. We plan share the outdoors with people just as he did. That is the legacy he would have wanted.

Here at Tarbone Ranch, we offer deer, elk, and bison hunts. We offer a limited number of hunting opportunities for the trophy game animals that live here. We strive to produce top end trophies from our herds of deer, elk and bison by allowing them to reach their potential mature size.

We built a hunting cabin on the property to house our guests in a place that is surrounded by the beauty of the Wichita Mountains.

The History of Tarbone Ranch

Tarbone Ranch was founded by Ken and Tammy Cook. The property has been specifically managed for big game beginning when they built their home on it in 1995. The property was then high fenced in 2006, and has been a hunting ranch ever since. Ken had a passion for wildlife management as well as his career in fishing. The Cooks have lived on this land since 1996 and continue to do so even after Ken’s passing in early 2016. The Cook family now continues Ken’s legacy of love for wildlife and the outdoors by managing the property the way he taught them. They look forward to guiding hunters for years to come.

Ken Cook’s Biography:

After graduating Oklahoma State University with a B.S. in Zoology he worked for the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation as a Fisheries Biologist. A change of career occurred in 1983 after Ken won the first Super BASS tournament. The $100,000 prize money allowed him to pursue professional angling as his next dream.

Since that time, Ken enjoyed a career of fishing tournaments and marketing products for his sponsors while at the same time helping thousands of others understand and enjoy the sport of bass fishing.
